The U.S. Drought Monitor has released the latest information on drought conditions present within Missouri and Arkansas, and data shows that conditions have worsened in the past week.
The D4 “Exceptional Drought”, the maximum level of drought, range in Arkansas has expanded, with all of Sharp County, and most of Izard and Fulton Counties now being encompassed. D3 drought currently takes up most of the rest of the Arkansas range of our listening area.

In Missouri, while D3 conditions are rare, they are slowly encroaching from the south, now taking up a sizable portion of Oregon and Ripley Counties, with some in Howell County as well. D2 and D1 conditions are more common. The further north you go, drought conditions have completely have alleviated, such as northern sections of Texas and Wright Counties.
