The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is inviting families to discover the fun and fundamentals of archery at a free hands-on clinic on Saturday, Aug. 10. The event will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Andy Dalton Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center, located at 4897 N. Greene County Farm Road 61 near Ash Grove.
Titled “Learning Archery: Family Archery,” the program is open to all ages and is especially designed for families looking to explore archery as a recreational activity or potential pathway into bow-hunting. MDC Assistant Outdoor Education Center Manager Steve Govero will lead the session, covering topics such as safety, shooting basics, and equipment care. Both classroom instruction and supervised target shooting will be included.
All necessary equipment will be provided by the Dalton Range staff. Space is limited, and participants are encouraged to register in advance at mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com.
