A Melbourne, Arkansas man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a two‑vehicle crash on Highway 17, four miles north of Lanton.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both vehicles were headed north when a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 32‑year‑old West Plains man collided with a 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by a 66‑year‑old man from Melbourne. Both vehicles were totaled.
The 66‑year‑old driver, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The Silverado driver was not injured according to the crash report.
