Missouri and Arkansas Drought Conditions Persist

With rain in the forecast for the next week, drought conditions are expected to lighten, but have until this point consistently persisted in southern Missouri and all of Arkansas.

Currently, the US Drought Monitor places Missouri’s most severe drought area as being along the Arkansas border, with Howell, Oregon, and Ripley Counties in our listening area most affected.

On the Arkansas side of the border, the entire state is under a drought, with the worst drought conditions on the scale (d4) streching into most of the Arkansas listening area.

With rain coming up within the coming days, conditions are expected to improve to some degree.
