MoDOT Unveils $13.2 Billion Draft Transportation Plan for Public Review

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has presented the draft Fiscal Year 2026-2030 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, launching a 30-day public comment period.

The draft plan outlines $13.2 billion in anticipated federal and state funding to support transportation projects across Missouri over the next five years. Of this total, $9.5 billion is earmarked for road and bridge construction contracts, averaging $1.9 billion annually. Over the past decade, MoDOT has completed 4,099 projects valued at $10.1 billion, delivering them $385 million under budget and with 93% completed on time.

The draft STIP is available for public review until June 6, 2025. Missourians are encouraged to submit comments by email (STIPcomments@modot.mo.gov), phone (1-888-ASK-MoDOT), or mail (Transportation Planning, Program Comments, P.O. Box 270, Jefferson City, MO 65102). The plan is also accessible online at modot.org/DRAFTSTIP. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission will consider the final plan for approval at its July 9 meeting.
