From the Missouri State Highway Patrol:
Law Enforcement agencies in MO have AGAIN received reports about the warrant scam. Scammers create a sense of urgency and fear by saying you have a warrant, demand money and to resolve the situation quickly. They even spoof law enforcement phone numbers.
๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒโ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ธ๐ป๐ผ๐:
โข Law enforcement will never call to demand payment or threaten arrest over the phone.
โข We do not accept payment in gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency.
โข Caller ID can be faked โ donโt trust it at face value.

1. Do NOT let the urgency of the call scare you into making a hasty decision.
2. Do NOT share personal info or send money.
3. Hang up and report the call to your local police department.
