“Everyone using less on-peak power means lower wholesale power costs for the co-op,” NAEC stated in a post. “That helps us all.”
Easy Ways to Reduce Power Use:
-
Adjust your thermostat up a degree or two.
-
Delay chores like running the dishwasher, washer, or dryer until later in the evening.
-
Cook with low-energy appliances like a microwave, slow cooker, or toaster oven instead of the stove or oven.
-
Hold off on using hot tubs and pool pumps until after 7 p.m.
The “Beat the Peak” initiative is part of NAEC’s broader efforts to promote energy efficiency and maintain stable electric rates for its members in north-central Arkansas.
