One male is in custody after a vehicle pursuit in northern Howell County late Friday. The incident began when a driver failed to yield for a traffic stop initiated by a Willow Springs Police Department officer.
Howell County Sheriff’s Office deputies assumed the pursuit as the vehicle continued eastbound on U.S. Highway 60. Upon reaching Mountain View, an officer with the Mountain View Police Department successfully deployed spike strips, causing the vehicle to slow and eventually come to a stop.
Deputies took the male driver into custody without further incident. He is currently being held on multiple active arrest warrants. Additional charges related to the pursuit will be forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.
A formal press release will be issued on the Howell County Sheriff’s Office page once new charges are filed.
