Norwood Man Arrested in Douglas County After Crash

A Norwood man faces multiple charges after a Sunday night crash and arrest detailed in a Missouri State Highway Patrol probable cause statement.

Troopers say 33‑year‑old Cruz Leyton Dixon initially claimed his wife was driving after a Dodge truck struck their Kia on County Road 201, but the officer noted “the odor of alcohol was very strong coming from his person.”

After posting bond on a warrant, Dixon was arrested again when the other driver reported Dixon had been behind the wheel. A breath test later showed a .161% blood‑alcohol level nearly four hours after first contact. Dixon is charged with DWI‑prior offender, driving while revoked, resisting arrest, and endangering the welfare of a child.
