An accident on P Highway five miles west of Alton left a 29-year-old Gatewood man with minor injuries and several charges.
The accident occurred as the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, ran off the right side of the highway again, overturned and struck a tree.

Derrick Simmons 29, is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Operating a Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner, Failure to Drive on the Right Half of the Roadway and No Seatbelt. He was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment of his injuries.
