An Ozark County woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she forced her way into a home, made violent threats, and later crashed a vehicle while driving intoxicated before fleeing on foot.
According to a probable cause statement filed in Ozark County, Beth Ann Von Elling unlawfully entered a residence in Theodosia late on April 11, appearing intoxicated and acting erratically. Victims told investigators she made several verbal threats, including claims that her boyfriend and others would come to the home to harm one of the occupants.
After leaving the residence, Von Elling allegedly drove recklessly across several roadways in Ozark and Taney counties. Deputies say she ultimately lost control of the vehicle and crashed near the intersection of P Highway and Highway 160 shortly after 12:19 a.m. on April 12, then fled the scene on foot.
Based on victim statements and corroborating evidence, investigators say Von Elling committed burglary, harassment, assault, trespassing, driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, and leaving the scene of a crash.
She is being held with no bond until further order of the court.
