Ozarks Healthcare to Host Annual Stroke Education Event, Friday, March 6th

WEST PLAINS, MO- Ozarks Healthcare will host their annual, EMS Stroke Education Event on Friday, March 6th, from 8-AM to 4-PM in the Willard Hunter Classroom; 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd, West Plains.

Attendees will hear interactive presentations from local EMS staff, state health officials, and Ozarks Healthcare providers, with opportunities for discussion and hands on learning. Lunch will be provided.

This free, day-long event is designed for EMS professionals and will provide accurate and timely training on Stroke recognition, response and care.

  • Acute Pediatric Stroke Care
  • The MEND Method

This event aligns with Ozarks Healthcare’s continued investment in advanced stroke-care services, including the addition of it’s Primary Stroke Center (PSC) certification acquired through certification from The Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC)

The Certification recognizes hospitals which meet rigorous, third-party standards for the rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke, including the use of evidence-based protocols, rescue medications, 24/7 specialized coverage, and closely monitored coordination with EMS.

As a Level II stroke designated facility, Ozarks Healthcare ensures patients in the region can be ensured an expert level, life -saving standard of care close to home without traveling long distances. The closest Level II stroke designated centers are more than 100 miles away.
