WEST PLAINS, MO- Ozarks Healthcare Women’s Healthcare Clinic is offering classes for expectant mothers in the year 2026. This will provide guidance for both moms and dads to-be and prepare them for their first moments with their baby.
Classes are open to both Moms & Coaches. These classes are also Free of Charge if you are delivering your baby at Ozarks Healthcare. For families delivering through an alternate facility, a one-time $75 fee covers attendance at one or all of these classes. OB Department tours are offered after the classes for those who would like to see the Labor & Delivery Area firsthand.
Class offerings included;
Prepared Childbirth – Recommended during the second trimester, this class covers breathing, relaxation, labor and delivery, support, and C-section preparation. One-session Saturday classes are available for convenience on January 10, March 14, May 9, July 11, September 12, and November 14 from 8 a.m. to noon.
New Parent Skills – Recommended during the third trimester, this class focuses on self-care, baby care, infant bathing, safety, immunizations, and circumcision. One-session classes are available on February 12, April 9, June 11, August 13, October 8, an December 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Heart Saver Infant CPR – Teaches basic resuscitation skills for infants. Recommended for the third trimester or for parents of babies up to one year old. One-session classes are available on February 10, April 7, June 9, August 11, October 13, an December 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Preparing for Breastfeeding – Provides expectant mothers with essential information and guidance for successful breastfeeding. One-session classes are available on January 13, March 10, May 12, July 14, September 8, and November 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Breastfeeding Support Group (formerly BIBS) – Meets the first and third Wednesday of the month from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
“Prenatal education empowers parents to feel confident and prepared for every stage of their baby’s arrival,” Kate Renfrow, Ozarks Healthcare Women’s Center Manager, said. “Our classes cover everything from childbirth and infant care to practical skills like infant CPR and breastfeeding support – plus, parents have the opportunity to tour the OB Department before delivery.”
