WEST PLAINS, MO – Ozarks Healthcare is pleased to welcome Kim West, MD, FACOG (Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists), to its Women’s Health team. Licensed in Missouri and Alabama, West brings extensive experience in obstetrics, gynecology, and comprehensive women’s healthcare to the community.
“I discovered my love for delivering babies during my obstetrics rotation in medical school, but I was equally drawn to gynecology and women’s healthcare,” West said. “I want to help patients navigate life changes, answer questions about their bodies, and provide care that empowers women at every stage of life.”
West earned her Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, and completed her residency at USA Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. She also trained at Cabell Huntington Hospital in West Virginia. She began her career in private practice and served as an OB/GYN at The Women’s Clinic, St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas, where she held leadership roles as Vice Chair of the Medical Executive Committee and Chair of Maternal Child Health. Most recently, West practiced as an obstetrics hospitalist at Mercy Hospital Springfield, gaining experience balancing hospital-based care with patient education and advocacy.
West is able to perform surgeries such as vaginal hysterectomies and provides annual women’s exams, with a focus on patient education and guidance at every stage of life.
Known for her approachable style, she emphasizes building long-term relationships with her patients and collaborating with her team to provide compassionate, personalized care.
