West Plains Utilities is reminding residents and local businesses that public shredding days are offered twice a month, on the first and third Wednesday. The free service is part of the city’s push toward its 2026 recycling goal — “2.6 in ’26,” an effort to keep 2.6 million pounds of recyclable material out of the landfill, a 73‑percent increase over last year.
Community members can bring personal or business documents for secure, on‑site shredding at the West Plains Recycling Center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The service is open to surrounding communities as well and supports ongoing efforts to reduce waste and promote responsible disposal.
