Deputies from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a domestic altercation at a residence in the 400 Block of 223 South. The incident involved 24-year-old Stephanie Hendrix and her 79-year-old grandmother, Virginia Clem.
According to witness statements and reports from law enforcement, the conflict began when Clem arrived at Hendrix’s home and began yelling at her. When Hendrix refused to come outside, Clem escalated the situation by throwing rocks at the house, shattering several windows. Witnesses and the victim reported hearing a sound resembling a gunshot before Clem allegedly shouted threats to burn down the residence. At the time of the altercation, two minor children under the age of five were inside the home.
Clem initially left the scene but later returned while deputies were still on-site. She repeated her threats to burn down the house and, upon being taken into custody, directed a death threat at Hendrix, stating that once she was released, she would kill her and set fire to the residence.
Clem was arrested and is currently being held pending formal charges. Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific charges she may face, but potential charges could include terroristic threats, criminal damage to property, and endangering the welfare of minors.
This case remains under investigation, and further details will be provided as they become available. Clem had recently been the subject of a Silver Alert, which was canceled when Clem was located and found to be safe.
