On Sunday afternoon a Salem Missouri woman lost her life on the Current River below Cave Spring.
The 63-year-old woman was in a kayak that was forced into a tree by the water current, the kayak overturned and she was swept under the tree. She was recovered by other boaters but pronounced deceased by the Shannon County Coroner.

This is the ninth drowning fatality in the state this year.
