Several Arrested in Izard County Over the Past Week

IZARD COUNTY, Ark. — The Izard County Sheriff’s Office reported multiple arrests over the past week, with charges ranging from driving offenses to drug possession.


According to Sheriff Charley Melton, Jessica Adams, 39, of Mount Pleasant, was taken into custody on July 7 following a bond revocation issued by the Izard County Circuit Court.

On July 8, deputies arrested Elvis Foster, 37, of Oxford, for careless driving, possession of an open container of alcohol, and driving while intoxicated (DWI).


Two individuals were arrested on July 10. Blake Hagan, 26, of Calico Rock, was charged with failure to yield, violation of a vehicle interlock device requirement, and second-offense DWI. Also arrested that day was Joseph McGowan, 51, of Calico Rock, who faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.


On July 13, William Maxy, 36, of Jacksonville, was arrested on a warrant from the Izard County District Court for failure to appear. Authorities say Maxy may also face additional charges for possession of a controlled substance, pending further investigation.
Sheriff Melton noted that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
