Severe Weather Preparedness Week Starts Today

We’ve just transitioned from February and into March, when we start to leave the patterns of winter behind and look to the changes that spring brings. This includes higher liklihoods of severe weather, which is why the National Weather Service has organized Severe Weather Preparedness Week, going on now, through Friday.

This week will include a variety of topics, touching on different weather types. Today’s topic however is receiving proper information.

The National Weather Service urges the public to get acquainted with recognized channels for official information regarding severe weather alerts. This can be through the NWS specifically, or sources such as local TV or radio

Keep in mind as well that on Wednesday, a statewide tornado siren test has been planned in conjunction with Wednesday’s topic: tornadoes.
