Update: Shannon County Sheriff’s Department Investigating Shooting in Birch Tree Suspect is in Custody

The Shannon County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting that occurred earlier today in Birch Tree. A male suspect shot a male victim. Deputies and I along with assisting agencies responded immediately, and the victim has been transported for medical care.

 

At this time, we believe this was an isolated incident. Even so, we strongly encourage residents in the Birch Tree area to lock their doors, remove keys from their vehicles, and remain alert while we work to locate the suspect.
