Update: Arkansas State Police investigators joined police department investigators and they worked throughout the night investigating the shooting incident. The body of a 67-year-old male will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The name of a suspect taken into custody last night is being withheld pending further investigation. The suspect and victim are neighbors at a local apartment complex. Additional details will be released as appropriate during the continuing investigation.

At 10:52 p.m., on Monday evening the Baxter County 911 Center received a citizen’s call for assistance after a shooting incident.
Mountain Home police officers responded to a local apartment complex and found a deceased male subject. A male suspect was located in a nearby apartment and taken into custody.
Investigators were summoned to the scene and are currently conducting their investigation. Additional details will be released later today.
