(Branson, MO) Entering the new year, Silver Dollar City of Branson is celebrating their Diamond Jubilee Anniversary. They start the celebration of 60 years with a prestigious win of the Golden Plate Icon Award. The award is one of the top honors of the Southwest Missouri Restaurant Association Golden Fork Awards, presented annually to restaurants or hospitality groups that make significant contributions to the industry.
Qualifications to receive the top honor of the Golden Plate include that an individual or organization must have superior business ethics and leadership of a successful operation over at least two decades and proven substantial contribution to their communities.
“Silver Dollar City has long been a leader in the restaurant industry of Southwest Missouri,” said President of the SW Missouri Restaurant Association, Mark Price of Price Hospitality Group. “Their 60th Anniversary seems quite fitting for the internationally-awarded park to receive this high distinction.”
The long-time Vice President of Foods for Silver Dollar City Attractions says he is most pleased to accept the award as his team prepares to launch a much-anticipated BBQ restaurant. “Our new 2020 Rivertown Smokehouse will be the largest dining investment in our corporation’s history, serving our famous BBQ plus new favorites,” said Terry Riddle, adding that the atmosphere of the new restaurant is being highly themed to the new Mystic River Falls ride adventure, with all 450 seats located along the banks of the Mystic River.
“2020 is promising to be our biggest year ever and kicking it off with this prestigious dining award makes it even more exciting,” said Riddle, thanking the Southwest Missouri Restaurant Association for the honor.
Former recipients of the Golden Plate include the Leong Family of Springfield, the Ferguson Family of Mexican Villa, and Hamra Enterprises. While the award is now announced, the ceremony is January 12th in Springfield, Missouri. For tickets swmraevents@morestaurants.org or #314-576-2777.
