Texas County Man Arrested for Arson

From the Texas County Sherriff’s Department:

On the evening of April 18, 2025, the Houston Rural Fire Department responded to fire
at a residence on Oak Dale Road in the Solo area. The fire department requested law
enforcement respond to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire. Texas County
deputies responded to the scene along with an investigator from the Missouri Division of Fire Safety (state fire marshal). After investigating the scene and interviewing witnesses it was determined that a camper trailer had been intentionally set on fire. Deputies arrested Gary R. Alliston for arson. During questioning Alliston stated he wanted the residents of the camper gone from the property. The residents of the camper were not home at the time of the fire, Alliston resides in a separate residence on the property which is rented from a third party. Prosecuting Attorney Parke Stevens charged Gary R. Alliston, age 64, of Solo,
Missouri with Arson 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, and Property Damage 1st degree.
Alliston is being held in the Texas County Jail pending on a $20,000 cash only warrant.
The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in
support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
