The Texas County Memorial Hospital (TCMH) Healthcare Foundation has awarded $10,000 in scholarships to area students pursuing careers in healthcare for the 2025 academic year. The scholarships, aimed at supporting local talent and addressing the healthcare needs of rural Missouri, were awarded to ten recipients from communities across Texas County.
This year’s recipients include Samantha Williams, Elizabeth Kuster, and Kayla Taylor from Cabool; Tammi Coonts, Sierra Keller, and Haley Long from Houston; Abigail Sullins from Licking; and Reagan Hoerning from Mountain Grove. Each student received $1,000 toward their educational expenses.
In addition, Halee Clayton of Licking was awarded the Dr. Eugene Charles Honeywell Memorial Scholarship, and Sophia Crites of Bucyrus received the Dr. Joe L. and Judith T. Spears Memorial Scholarship, both totaling $1,000 each.
Many of the recipients are currently employed at TCMH in various departments while working toward degrees in nursing, occupational therapy, or pre-med studies. Their academic pursuits span institutions such as Missouri State University, Western Governors University, Graceland University, Capella University, and Southwest Baptist University.
The Foundation’s annual golf tournament and a $5,000 matching grant from the Healthcare Services Group Foundation (HSGCF) helped make these scholarships possible. Since launching the scholarship program in 2007, the Foundation has awarded nearly $166,000 in educational aid.
