A 16-year-old Thayer teen was killed in a one-vehicle accident Sunday evening. Two other teens were injured in the accident. In total, four teens were in the vehicle. Names have not been released.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the vehicle ran off of the road in a curve and struck a tree. The 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead at Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) in West Plains. Two other teens, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male were injured and flown to OMC by air ambulance. Both are listed with moderate injuries. The driver was uninjured.
The accident happened on County Road 326, three miles north of Thayer at 8 p.m. Sunday (6/28) evening.
This is MSHP Troop G’s 17th fatality of the year, compared to 11 at this time a year ago.
