On May 6, 2026, at approximately 0900hours, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office served a narcotics search warrant on W. 76 Highway just inside the Ava City Limits. The search warrant was a result of a several-month narcotic investigation conducted by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the COMET Drug Task Force.

Arrested at the time was Dalisa Clanton, age 45, of Ava. A warrant was issued for Clanton for Possession of a Controlled substance-methamphetamine, Unlaw Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree bond was set at $25,000 cash only.

Also arrested was Chance Smith, age 28, of Ava. A warrant was issued for Clanton for Possession of a Controlled substance-methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree bond was set at $25,000 cash only.

The Third and final person arrested was Robert Stephen Wallace, age 34, of Ava. A warrant was issued for Wallace for Possession of a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine, and Unlawful possession of Drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $1500 cash only.
