Three Seriously Injured in a Four Vehicle Accident

Three people were seriously injured Friday after a four‑vehicle crash on Highway K near Ava.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a northbound 2017 Cadillac crossed the centerline and struck a southbound John Deere nutrient applicator in the tire. The Cadillac then collided head‑on with a 2014 Volkswagen. A 2022 Chevrolet pickup traveling behind the Volkswagen was unable to stop and rear‑ended it, coming to rest in the roadway.

Troopers report the 86‑year‑old Mountain Home, Arkansas man driving the Cadillac and his 85‑year‑old female passenger both suffered serious injuries. The 40‑year‑old Seymour man driving the Volkswagen also sustained serious injuries. All three were transported by Cox Ambulance to Cox South in Springfield. The drivers of the John Deere applicator and the Chevrolet pickup were not reported injured.

The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Trooper N.B. Poynter.
