TINY HOMES PROJECT REACHES MAJOR MILESTONE AS FIRST SIX HOMES ARRIVE

After nine months of fundraising, organizers of the Christos House local Tiny Homes project say the effort has reached a major milestone. Six of the planned 14 homes were delivered over the past three days, marking the first visible step toward creating a safer, more stable environment for survivors of abuse and sexual violence.

Project leaders say community generosity has fully funded the cost of all 14 homes—an achievement they describe as “beyond amazing,” noting that every dollar for the structures themselves has now been raised.

The next phase of the project focuses on infrastructure and finishing work. Roughly $300,000 is still needed to connect the homes to electricity, septic systems, networking and security, as well as to install sidewalks, fencing, and furnishings. Once complete, the homes will offer residents increased privacy, autonomy, and the supportive environment needed to rebuild their lives.

Organizers credit the progress to the outpouring of support from individuals, businesses, and civic groups across the region.

“This is happening because our community came together,” the organization said in a statement. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who has helped make this possible.”
