On July 3, 2025, a routine traffic stop conducted by Deputy Lisa Noble on State Route 99 South and Route Y in Birch Tree led to the arrest of Teresa Ramsay and Patrick Aranda, both residents of North Carolina.
The vehicle initially failed to stop, continuing for approximately 1.5 miles with emergency lights and sirens activated, reaching speeds of 75 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Once stopped, the occupants displayed extreme nervousness, prompting additional assistance.
A K9 free-air sniff was conducted, resulting in a positive alert for narcotics. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a significant amount of LSD, psychedelic mushrooms, amphetamines, and various drug paraphernalia.
Both individuals were transported to the Shannon County Jail and placed on 24-hour holds with $5,000 cash-only bonds for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Additional charges are expected to be filed Monday.
