West Plains, MO. – A Willow Springs man accused of performing sexual acts with his step-daughter will stand trial in July. Gary Allen Burk, 40 of Willow Springs, is charged with 2nd-degree statutory rape and 2nd-degree statutory sodomy.
According to a probable cause statement, Burk was visibly distraught and crying when interviewed by deputies with the Howell County Sheriff’s Department during their interview in April 2019. Burk stated that his stepdaughter had accused him of inappropriate behavior.
An interview was performed by the Child Advocacy Center where the minor victim disclosed that she had sexual contact with Burk while living in Lebanon, Missouri, again while staying at a hotel in West Plains, and at his residence in Willow Springs. The acts were reported to have began with the victim performing oral sex on the accused in Lebanon and escalated to vaginal and anal sex in Willow Springs.
A pre-trial conference will be held on June 20, 2023, and the jury trial will be held at the Howell County Courthouse beginning on July 19th and lasting three days.
