Troop G reports 8 accidents during Memorial Day weekend

During the 2020 Memorial Day reporting period, Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported eight traffic accidents. No fatalities were reported.

The reporting period began Friday, May 22, at 12:01 a.m. and ran through Monday, May 25, at 11:59 p.m.

Of the accidents, two reported serious injuries:

Justin Grogan, 29, of Mountain View, was seriously injured in a one vehicle accident. Grogan’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned. Grogan was transported by air ambulance to a Springfield hospital.

The accident happened at 6:10 a.m., Saturday on Highway 60, six miles west of Mtn. View.

Matthew Williams, 19, Mountain Home, Ark., was seriously injured when he attempted to pass another vehicle and ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected , skidded off the right side of the road, returned to the roadway and overturned. Williams was ejected from his vehicle. Williams was transported by air ambulance to a Springfield hospital.

The accident happened at 6:50 p.m., Monday on Highway 181, two miles north of Dora.
