Two Arrested in Crash that Shut Down Douglas County School

Ava, MO. – The Douglas County Sheriff, Chris Degase, has released information on the arrest of two people who crashed their vehicle, with one of them attempting to escape the scene of the crash. 

This happened on Wednesday afternoon, around 1pm beginning with the crash near Skyline School. The school was asked to undergo a lockdown after it was found that a male that was in the vehicle had fled the scene.

A female occupant, a 21-year-old named Jewlie Waterworth of Lebanon was found in the vehicle in an intoxicated state. The male, 38-year-old Bryan Arnold of Lebanon, was eventually found through both community support and multiple K9 units being deployed. 

Arnold reportedly had fled the scene because he already had previous arrest warrants out of Arkansas.

Bryan Arnold was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle accident, resisting arrest, and unlawful possession of an illegal weapon (brass Knuckles). Arnold’s bond was set at $50,000 cash only.
 
Jewlie Waterworth was charged with Hindering prosecution and resisting arrest. Her bond was set at $1500 cash only.
