Two Juveniles Charged in Horseshoe Bend Theft, Burglary Cases

HORSESHOE BEND, Ark. — Two juveniles have been charged in the Izard County Circuit Court, Juvenile Division, in connection with a series of thefts and burglaries reported in Horseshoe Bend over the past several months.

According to information released by the Izard County Sheriff’s Office in late January, the juveniles face a combined total of 49 offenses related to vehicle thefts, vehicle burglaries, and other theft-related crimes reported since July 2025. The investigation remains active, and authorities indicated that additional charges against other individuals may be forthcoming.

Sheriff Charley Melton said the string of crimes has been a concern for the community and praised his department’s efforts in pursuing the cases.

“The recent vehicle thefts, vehicle burglaries, and other thefts in Horseshoe Bend over the past several months have been troubling,” Melton said. “I am proud of my staff for their continued dedication and hard work to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”

Melton also recognized the work of Investigator Sean Tomlinson, noting that the investigation required extensive time and effort due to the nature of the evidence involved.

“Some cases involved very limited evidence, while others included video footage where the suspects’ identities were obscured,” Melton said. “Often, the public is unaware of the extensive work required to solve cases due to the limited information that can be released in order to protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation.”

The sheriff’s office encourages anyone with information related to these cases or other ongoing investigations to come forward.

Individuals with information are asked to contact the Izard County Sheriff’s Office at 870-368-4203 and request to speak with a deputy. Authorities emphasized that even information that may seem minor could be critical to solving a case.

Because the cases are being handled in juvenile court, additional details will not be released at this time.
