Two Mammoth Spring High School Seniors Have Earned Major Statewide Honors

Bethany Robbins has been awarded the K8 Community Scholarship, a $10,000 award presented by KAIT and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Selected from more than 500 applicants, Robbins was surprised with the announcement Monday during a visit from K8 News and Arkansas State representatives. Morning Anchor Charles McCary revealed the scholarship during an on‑campus interview, prompting an emotional reaction from Robbins, who said the award will allow her to pursue her education without relying on student loans. Her parents, Don and Rhonda Robbins, and Principal Scott Small praised her dedication and consistent excellence. Robbins plans to attend Arkansas State University this fall to study Radiological Sciences.

Meanwhile, senior Jonathan Morris has been selected as a recipient of the Governor’s Award for Musical Excellence, presented by Play It Again, Arkansas! The honor recognizes 100 outstanding seniors statewide who demonstrate exceptional musical talent, commitment, and leadership within their school programs. Morris, a first‑chair trumpet player in the Mammoth Spring Band, said the award is one of the greatest honors of his musical career. Director of Bands Blake LaRue said Morris earned the recognition through daily effort, dependability, and pride in his craft.

Both Robbins and Morris represent the high standards and achievements celebrated at Mammoth Spring High School, each preparing to carry their talents into the next chapter of their lives.
