Winona, MO. – Two Winona teenagers are being treated at a Springfield hospital for injuries sustained in a dirt bike crash on Saturday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred at 10:50 p.m. on old Highway 60, two miles east of Birch Tree in Shannon County.
A 16-year-old male driving a Honda CRX 250 carrying a 14-year-old male passenger was headed west on old Highway 60 when it ran off the roadway and struck a guard rail. Neither teen had been wearing safety equipment and both suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Both boys were taken by ground ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
