United Federated Republican Women receive highest award possible

The West Plains chapter of the United Federated Republican Women (UFRW) received the highest award possible, The Diamond Award for 2020 by the Missouri Federation of Republican Women (MoFRW), founded in 1930.
This award represents the many hours of dedication and hard work UFRW put into completing the activities and goals included on the MoFRW Achievement Award form. Some of UFRW’s accomplishments include; issuing two $750 Scholarships to Howell County high school girls, care baskets for Bridges, Breakfast with Santa event in 2019, providing diaper bags and supplies for Open Door Pregnancy Center, Donations to On Time Ministry for child trafficking, donated books to the West Plains Public Library, provided flag ceremonies and flag retirement etiquette, installed or repaired sinks, bathroom toilets, showers, fixtures, and kitchen plumbing for Salutes an organization for homeless Veterans. They also provided hygiene supplies for each resident.
On the political side UFRW helped organize town halls for all candidates running for Missouri Senate, along with Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick, Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe, and Governor Mike Parson. UFRW helped prepare and work at the Howell County Republican HQ, and also decorated and helped organize Howell County Lincoln Days. UFRW meets the first Thursday of every month at Ostermiers Brewery & Pizza Company.
