The Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Esports program is celebrating a highly successful and historic season, as highlighted in a recent interview with Head Coach Nick Lawson on Ozark Radio News.
Coach Lawson sat down to discuss how the esports program has grown, providing new opportunities for students and alumni alike. The Grizzly Esports team consisted of 27 students throughout the year, with 17 actively competing across the fall and spring semesters.
The season wrapped up on a high note, with the team making a national appearance in two titles: the EA Sports College Football Club and Mario Kart. For Coach Lawson, it was a particularly rewarding milestone, as some of the graduating seniors who played a part in taking the program to the national level have been with the team since the beginning.
The program also expanded its community reach this year by visiting several high school campuses in the area to connect with students and showcase their esports programs.
