The West Plains Civic Center has announced a full lineup of activities and events for July, offering something for residents of all ages.
On July 10, the Dickerson Park Zoo will present live animals at the same times and location. Then on July 17, families can enjoy a Mermaid Magic Presentation, also hosted by the public library at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Civic Center will be closed on July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
A special Food Truck Thursday will be held on July 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering a variety of delicious eats outside the center.
On July 26–27, the TLR Gun and Knife Show returns, with hours from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Sunday.
Rounding out the month is the American Red Cross Blood Drive on July 31 from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall.
Looking ahead, music fans can grab tickets now for two upcoming concerts at the Civic Center:
- Zach Williams on August 9
- Aaron Lewis & The Stateliners on November 18 at 7 p.m.

The West Plains Civic Center Pool remains open for the season with lap swim from 6–9 a.m. Monday through Friday, open swim from 4–8 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and weekend open swim from 12–5 p.m. For more pool details, call 417-255-7983.
