West Plains Parks & Recreation Reopens Movie Night Poll After Licensing Change

West Plains Parks and Recreation has announced a change to its upcoming Family Movie Night in the Park at Carmical Field, originally scheduled to feature Disney’s Zootopia following a community-wide vote.

The popular film was selected by local residents just two weeks ago, but due to newly announced licensing restrictions tied to the upcoming release of Zootopia 2, the city has been informed it can no longer show the original movie at the event.

In light of the change—and to keep the community involved—the department is once again inviting the public to vote on a new movie selection. A fresh poll with updated film options is now live on the West Plains Parks and Recreation Facebook page. Residents can cast their vote by reacting to the post with the emoji that corresponds to their movie of choice. Voting will remain open through Thursday, June 5, when the winning movie will be announced.

Organizers noted that The Wild Robot is off the table as a backup choice, as Mammoth Spring plans to screen it during their own movie night on June 14.

West Plains Parks and Recreation expressed gratitude for the community’s support and flexibility and is looking forward to a fun evening under the stars.
