West Plains Public Library Named Library of the Year

West Plains Public Library was honored to receive the award “Missouri Library of the Year” from the Missouri Library Association at Thursday evening’s gala awards.

Library Director Greg Carter shared,
“We are incredibly honored to be chosen as Missouri’s Library of the Year out of all the libraries that also do incredible work in their communities. This award reflects the dedication of many including, the Board of Trustees, the staff, the City of West Plains, the Friends of the Library, and the Library Foundation Board. Together, we continue to strengthen our mission of learning, connection, and growth for all.”

The Missouri Library of the Year Award is conferred upon any type of Missouri library, library system, or library network for distinguished achievement in service.

We are proud to serve the West Plains community and grateful for this recognition. Thank you to our dedicated staff, supportive patrons, and community partners who make this work possible!
