West Plains R-VII Board of Education Announces 2025–2026 Student Representative

The West Plains R-VII Board of Education is pleased to announce that McKrae Brewer, a student at West Plains High School, has been selected to serve as the 2025–2026 student school board representative. Brewer’s appointment was finalized during the March board meeting, and she will be officially welcomed at the August meeting.

This position, established in 2024, provides students with a direct voice in district discussions. Brewer will serve in a nonvoting, advisory role, acting as a liaison between the student body and the Board of Education. Her responsibilities will include providing monthly updates on student activities and high school events, offering student perspectives on board matters, and meeting regularly with Superintendent Dr. Davis to discuss strategies for strengthening communication between students and district leadership.

Brewer is an accomplished student, participating in the Zizzer softball team, National Honor Society, Student Council, and BETA Club. She earned the appointment through a rigorous selection process involving an application, two interviews, and multiple letters of recommendation.
