West Plains, MO – Families in West Plains can now beat the heat as the city’s popular splash pad has officially opened for the season. Located within the city park, the splash pad is now fully operational, offering a fun and refreshing way for children and families to enjoy the warm weather.
The splash pad will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., providing ample opportunities for play and enjoyment. However, city officials remind residents that the splash pad is unsupervised by park staff during operating hours, making it the responsibility of parents and guardians to supervise their children while they play.
To ensure that the splash pad remains a safe and enjoyable space for everyone, the Parks and Recreation Department has issued a set of guidelines that visitors are expected to follow:
Splash Pad Rules:
-
No sitting, climbing, pulling, or standing on the splash pad equipment.
-
No animals are allowed on or near the splash pad.
-
No pool toys, floats, or chairs are permitted on the splash pad surface.
-
No food, drinks, tobacco products, or soaps are allowed on the splash pad surface.
-
No bikes, scooters, skateboards, or rollerblades are permitted on the splash pad surface.
-
No throwing rocks, pebbles, or other debris onto the splash pad surface.
City officials emphasize that these rules are in place to keep the splash pad in excellent condition and to ensure the safety of all visitors.
“If you see anyone not following the rules, please contact the Parks and Recreation Office at 417-256-7304,” a city representative stated.
