WEST PLAINS, MO – West Plains Area Farmers Market (WPAFM) is suspending its outdoor markets until Saturday, April 11.
Caleb Porter, market manager, said the decision was made with heavy hearts and to abide by the March 23 stay-home order from Governor Parson.
The Order states: In accordance with the guidelines from the President and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every person in the State of Missouri shall avoid social gatherings of more than ten (10) people. For purposes of this Order, “social gatherings” shall mean any planned or spontaneous event or convening that would bring together more than ten (10) people in a single space at the same time.
WPAFM’s weekly markets are planned and more than 10 vendors participate in each market. The market will obey the Order and avoid putting vendors and visitors in any jeopardy.
The market plans to reopen on Saturday, April 11 from 9 am to 1 pm. Status updates will be posted on Facebook at WestPlainsAreaFarmersMarket and on Twitter @WPAFM.
