Wright Co. Law Enforcement form Special Operations Group

With the increase of violent crime, Law Enforcement injuries, murders, chronic drug use and the availability of certain illegal drugs; law enforcement officials in Wright County have decided on a plan to combat these issues. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, partnering with the Mountain Grove Police Department, Hartville Police Department and the Mansfield Police Department has developed a plan to help protect our Citizens and law enforcement officers of Wright County.
 
This plan is the Wright County Special Operations Group (SOG). This group will be made up of Police Officers from Mountain Grove Police Department, Mansfield Police Department, Hartville Police Department and Wright County Sheriff’s Office Deputies trained in special tactics and issued special equipment to accomplish this mission.
 
The primary operations of this team will be to perform the following, including, but not limited to; Search Warrants, Fugitive Apprehension, Hostage Situations, Arrest of Potentially Violent Suspects, Swift Water Rescue, Search and Rescue of Missing or endangered people, and any other law enforcement operations deemed too hazardous or dangerous for regular police operations, including K9 operations.
