Marion County Weekly Report: Two Felony Arrests, One Death Investigation

YELLVILLE, Ark. – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has released its weekly activity report for the week ending Aug. 29, highlighting calls for service, arrests, investigations, and detention center updates.

Deputies responded to 97 calls for service during the week, which included five wellness checks and one domestic call. Deputies also assisted with or worked on six accidents and completed 23 incident reports.

There were five misdemeanor arrests and two felony arrests made. Investigators opened two new felony cases and one death investigation. Ten interviews and 20 investigative conferences were conducted in connection with ongoing cases.

The report noted that deputies also provided 25 hours of bailiff service. One investigator completed week two of the Narcotics Officer Certificate Program, hosted by the Criminal Justice Institute in Little Rock.

At the Marion County Detention Center, 21 inmates were booked and 22 were released, leaving a total of 41 inmates in custody at week’s end.
