Albert Elza “Sam” Frye, 94 years, 5 months, 18 days old, passed peacefully to Heaven on April 22, 2022 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO with his family by his side.
Sam was born November 4, 1927 in Squires, MO to Jim Frank and Orpha (Reser) Frye.
Sam was a retired Carpenter Foreman for Morton Buildings in Rochelle, IL. He had worked in Illinois, Texas, and Kansas before his retirement.
On August 20, 1949 Sam and Wilma Bradford were united in marriage in Rochelle, IL and they were blessed with three children; Rodney, Nancy, and Christine. Wilma preceded in death in 1992. He later was united in marriage to Ruth Hodges until her death in 2010.
Sam was a Christian and a member of the General Baptist Church. He had recently been attending the Destination Church. He loved life to the fullest. Sam enjoyed returning to the Ozarks where he grew up. In his earlier years he enjoyed woodworking and his later years he loved quilting for everyone! Sam never met a stranger and his kindness and love for people will live on.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wilma, his siblings; Lena Sears, Hester Reineck, Maxine Levan, Troy Frye, Fonzo Frye, Randy Frye, Essie & Dessie Frye, Dewey “Dude” Frye, Burl Frye, Fern Frye, and Everett Frye.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Rodney & Patricia Frye, Nancy & Jimmy Hooten, and Christine King, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a very special friend, Ellen Lakey, other extended relatives and many friends.
