Funeral Services for Alta Jewel Osborne, Age 90 of Licking, Missouri will be held on Monday February 2nd, 2026 at The Linking Pentecostal Holliness Church, Licking, Missouri, beginning at 2 PM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 1 PM.

Alta Jewel Osborne, age 90, of Licking, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, in Licking, Missouri.

Alta was born on September 9, 1935, in Shirley, Arkansas, to Roy Davidson and Stella Elizabeth Gibbons. She graduated from Fremont High School in Fremont, Missouri, in 1953. Shortly thereafter, on September 1, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Jay Silas Willard Osborne. Together they shared 59 years of marriage before his passing.

Alta devoted 32 years of service to Fort Leonard Wood, where she worked in Civil Service. She was among the first women to learn and implement computer-based systems—a testament to her determination, intelligence, and willingness to embrace change.

A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Alta was a devoted member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Licking, Missouri, for many years. Her Pentecostal beliefs guided her life and were evident in her dedication to prayer, worship, and service to others.

In her everyday life, Alta found joy in the simple and meaningful things. Shopping was one of her all-time favorite pastimes, often enjoyed with her siblings. More than anything, she treasured time with her family. Alta was one of the most present and devoted grandmothers, never allowing her age to slow her down. She never missed a weekend of seeing her great-grandbabies, chasing after them, pouring into each of them with love, laughter, and attention. Her presence was a constant blessing—faithful, steady, and full of warmth.

Alta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jay Silas Willard Osborne; her parents, Roy Davidson and Stella Elizabeth Gibbons and stepfather, Aaron Breedlove; her daughter, Beth Anne Osborne; and her siblings, Lorene Johnson, Junior Davidson, Joel Davidson, Jim Breedlove, and Shelby Breedlove.

She is survived by her children and their families: Greg Osborne and wife, Patricia; their children Travis Osborne and Michelle Farley and husband, Joe Farley; and great-grandchildren Sophye Osborne, Brycen Osborne, and Joe Farley.

Joni Scott and husband Todd; their sons Shawn Skouby and Michael Skouby; and great-grandchildren Legend Skouby, Rain Skouby, Colton Osborne, Makayla Osborne, and Ryatt Skouby.

Lori Held and husband David; their children Dustin Duncan and wife Chelsea Duncan, and Shea Held; and great-grandchild Kade Duncan.

Rodney Osborne; his children Bailie Holmes and husband, Philip Holmes, and Cody Osborne and wife, Sydni Osborne; and great-grandchildren Claire Holmes, Ella Holmes, Stetson Cahill, Honey Osborne, Brinley Osborne, Roscoe Osborne, and Hudson Holmes, whom she was so excited to welcome.

She is also survived by her sisters, Charlene Jones and Pat Hildreth, along with many extended family members and friends.

Alta’s legacy is one of steadfast faith, unconditional love, and deep devotion to family. While her absence is deeply felt, her family finds peace in knowing she has entered Heaven and is reunited with those who went before her—a joyful homecoming, promised by her faith and fulfilled by her Lord.
