Carl D. Risner

Carl DeWayne Risner, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Willow Springs, Missouri, on December 13, 2025.

Carl was born on June 27, 1945, in Arvin, California, to Benjamin and Gladys Risner. He spent his early years in Bakersfield, California, where he built the foundation of a life defined by hard work and dedication. Later in life, Carl moved to Missouri, drawn by its lush landscape and the slower, more peaceful pace it offered.

A lifelong truck driver, Carl took pride in the open road and the honest work it represented. His career reflected his strong work ethic, independence, and commitment to providing for his family.

Carl had a deep appreciation for locomotive steam engines, with a special fondness for the legendary Big Boy. This passion brought him joy and reflected his admiration for strength, engineering, and history.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Ann Risner, and his parents, Benjamin Risner and Gladys Beck.

Carl is survived by his eight children, 18 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, who will carry forward his legacy of perseverance, curiosity, and quiet strength.

He will be remembered with love and missed deeply by all who knew him.
