Memorial Services for Carolyn O. Suarez, Age 81 of West Plains, Missouri will be held on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, West Plains, Missouri, beginning at 4:00 PM.

Celebrating a Life of Love, Faith, and Service
Carolyn Opal Suarez, born in West Lake, Louisiana, entered this world as the fourth of eight children in a loving family. From her earliest days, Carolyn embodied warmth, compassion, and a gentle strength that would define her journey and touch the lives of all who knew her.
In 1962, Carolyn married Charles (Pat) Coleman, and together they raised four children, Helen Ryan of West Plains, Robbie Coleman from Iowa, Louisiana, Mark Coleman from West Plains, MO, Chuck Coleman from Sulphur, Louisiana, creating a home filled with laughter and care.
In 1970, the family moved to West Plains, Missouri, where Carolyn worked as a nurse’s aide, dedicating herself to helping others until 1985. After returning to Louisiana and experiencing the loss of Charles, Carolyn met and married Johnny Suarez in 1988. Though Johnny passed away in 1994, Carolyn’s resilience and love guided her as she moved back to Missouri, where she planned to help take care of her grandsons Jonathon and Paden, where she remained in Missouri until her passing.
Carolyn was mother-in-law to Jay Ryan and wife Helen Ryan, Betty Coleman and husband Robbie Coleman, Dee Coleman and husband Mark Coleman, stepmother to; Tina Sedtal, Ronal Suarez, David Suarez, Linda Chargois, Grandmother to; Jonathon Lee (deceased) Paden Lee, Melinda Myers, Maryssa Myers, Shawnta Meaux, Corrina Philya, Chairty Hackworth (deceased), Vernonica Vincent, Jarred Vincent, Leslie Vincent, Darlene Suarez, Great grandmother to more than 14 children and great grandmother to eight children, aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, and friend to many more.
She was preceded in death by her following siblings; Emery Wing, Winnie Miller, Annette Thibodeaux, Sandra Ister, Jessie Wing, Brenda (Bunny) Willard, and survived by her brother Pat Wing,
Carolyn was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, wife, mother-in-law, caretaker, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her nurturing spirit was felt by all, whether she was caring for loved ones or offering a kind word to those in need. Carolyn’s faith as a devout Catholic was central to her life, providing comfort and inspiration through every season.
She found joy in simple pleasures from gardening, reading, and spending time with her family. Carolyn cherished her favorite television shows and crafts, always eager to share a new project or story. She was a devout Catholic, loved watching Walker Texas Ranger, enjoyed watching old westerns on TV, when she was younger, she loved to dance, passed time playing cards, bingo, and working in puzzle books, she collected stuffed animals and crocheting,
She leaves behind her brother, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and countless friends. She is also reunited in eternal rest with loved ones who preceded her.
Services honoring Carolyn’s life will be held on March 11, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Plains, Missouri, at 4 p.m., with interment at Big Woods Cemetery in Vinton, Louisiana, on March 19, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, celebrating Carolyn’s lifelong commitment to compassion and community.
Carolyn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her loving heart, and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she graced.
