Cassandra Woods

Cassandra Louise Woods, lovingly known as “Cassy,” passed away on January 15, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children, held in love until the very end. Cassy was born on July 19, 1956, in Riverside, California.

Cassy was the beloved wife of Kenneth Woods, with whom she shared a life full of love, laughter, and countless adventures. Their travels together created treasured memories, and it was almost guaranteed that Cassy would return home with a rock from each trip. Cassy and Kenny also shared a love for yard sales and cafés, always enjoying the simple pleasures of time spent together.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Cockrum Shaw, and her brother, Blaine Eugene Shaw.

Cassy is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Woods, of the home; her beloved corgi, Elvis; her father, Emmett Hood of Cabool, Missouri; and her sister, Lori Hood-Lucchi (Chris) of California. She also leaves behind her cherished children: Eliza Cannon (Matt), Levi White (Ashley), Emily Shelley (Ronnie), Ethan Knapp (Stefanie), Kim Lemmon (David), and Jeff Woods (Tara).

Cassy was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom knew her as the unforgettable “Crazy Grandma Cass.” Her joy, humor, and fierce love for her family will be remembered always.

Cassy lived fully, loved her family deeply, and left behind a lifetime of stories that will continue to be shared.

The family plans to hold a celebration of life service at a later date.
